Screens

Vertical screens for the sides of your veranda or for your windows. Against sun, wind and prying eyes, and out of sight when you don’t need them.

A screen is a vertical fabric blind that you roll down. On the side of a veranda it keeps out low sun, wind and curious looks. In front of a window it keeps the heat out before it gets into your home.

With zip screens, the fabric is held in the side guides by a zip. That keeps it taut, and it flaps far less in the wind than a loose blind.

Why screens?

  • Keeps heat out, before it reaches the glass
  • Taut fabric in the side guides

What you choose

We make everything to measure. These are the choices that make the difference:

Where
On the sides or front of your veranda, or in front of the windows of your house.
Operation
By hand, or electrically with a switch or remote control.
Fabric
More or less see-through, and a colour that suits your window frames or veranda.
Installation
In the opening between the posts, or in front of it. That depends on the space and the profile.

What to check before you order

Four things to check now, so everything fits first time.

Measure the opening

Measure the width and height of the opening in a few places. On a veranda: the measurement between the posts and under the gutter.

Choose your fabric in daylight

A fabric looks different in the daytime than in the evening. Ask for samples and look at them outside.

Think about power

Electric screens need a power point nearby.

Roll them up in a storm

Zip screens can take a knock, but roll them up in a storm.

Questions about screens

Is your question not listed? Call or email us and you’ll get an answer from someone who knows the product.

Can you see out through a screen?

With most fabrics, yes: in the daytime you can see out from inside, while people outside can hardly see in. In the evening with the lights on, it works the other way round.

Can a screen handle wind?

Zip screens are a lot sturdier than loose blinds, because the fabric is held in the guides. Still, roll them up in a storm.

Will screens fit under my veranda?

Often, yes. Send a photo and the measurements of the opening with your request and we’ll see what fits.
